Vanuit het bestuur
Allereerst u allen een gelukkig 2012 gewenst! Het is een tijdje geleden dat jullie een nieuwsbrief ontvingen van Rho Chi. Hoewel we regelmatig nieuwsberichten plaatsen op onze website www.rhochi.eu, merken we dat niet iedereen op de hoogte is van de ontwikkelingen binnen Rho Chi. Via deze Nieuwsbrief en onze website blijft u op de hoogte. Daarom een overzicht van de belangrijkste nieuwtjes van 2011 en van de activiteiten die door Rho Chi georganiseerd worden komend jaar.
De laatste maanden is gewerkt aan een verandering in de beleidsstructuur van Rho Chi Chapter. Een nieuw strategisch beleidsplan is geschreven met focus op de doelen van STTI-Vision 2020 en hoe deze te bereiken. Dit ook om beter aan de behoeftes van onze leden te voldoen. Dit heeft geleid tot nieuwe functies en commissies binnen de chapter.
Op donderdag 26 januari 2012 vindt de Algemene Leden Vergadering plaats. Zet deze datum alvast in uw agenda. De ALV vindt plaats van 18.00-19.00 (Dompleinzaal, UMC Utrecht/AZU). Twee belangrijke zaken die aan de orde komen zijn het strategisch plan met bijzondere aandacht voor wat wij voor onze leden kunnen doen en er zijn een aantal vacatures binnen het bestuur en de nieuwe commissies waar u zich voor kan aanmelden. Na de ALV wordt er een lezing gegeven (19.00-20.00) door Dr. Betsie van Gaal met de titel: Safe or Sorry? Een onderzoek naar een patiëntveiligheidsprogramma gericht op het voorkomen van decubitus, urineweginfecties en valincidenten. Daarna is er een borrel met gelegenheid voor netwerken. Wij hopen op een grote opkomst!
Op 1 en 2 april 2011 is de Leadership Summit in Amsterdam gehouden. STTI Leadership Summits bieden educatieve sessies om deelnemers de mogelijkheden te geven om uitdagingen in leiderschap aan te gaan. De LS in Amsterdam bood een gevarieerd en interessant programma door sprekers en deelnemers uit verschillende werkvelden en landen. Op de site van Rho Chi vind je de presentaties en de foto’s.
De Biennial Convention van STTI werd gehouden in Grapewine in Texas (28/10-2/11 2011) en werd bezocht door ruim 1800 verpleegkundigen waaronder twee vertegenwoordigers van elk van de 490 chapters. Thóra Hafsteinsdóttir, president en Marie-Louise Luiking, president-elect hebben namens Rho Chi deelgenomen. Van het enorme aanbod van interessante sessies op het gebied van leiderschap, wetenschap en chapter management, hebben zij lezingen gevolgd over evidence based practice, onderzoek, de organisatie van STTI en haar chapters. Ook was er gelegenheid kandidaten te spreken voor de verkiezingen in het bestuur van STTI en natuurlijk ook om andere STTI leden te ontmoeten. Dhr. Nico Oud is benoemd in het bestuur van the STTI Foundation for Nursing en Dr. Claudia Gamel is benoemd lid Charter Review Task Force.
Al sinds 2008 is er een samenwerking met de andere Europese chapters binnen STTI en deze samenwerking wordt nu geformaliseerd binnen de structuur van de nieuwe regio Europa. Dr. Thóra Hafsteinsdóttir is gekozen als regional coördinator van STTI Europa en zal de samenwerking van de STTI chapters binnen Europa leiden. Momenteel wordt door deze groep het congres: “STTI European Region Conference: Diversity Across Europe: Implications for Nursing” georganiseerd, die wordt gehouden 12-14 juli 2012 in Cardiff Wales. Bent u er dan ook bij?
Op woensdag 16 november, hebben wij onze vereniging kunnen versterken met een twintig-tal nieuwe nurse-leaders tijdens de Installatiebijeenkomst. Het was een interessante avond door een lezing van één van onze zuiderburen, Prof. Stijn Blot en de ongedwongen sfeer tijdens het jaarlijkse diner in het Academiegebouw te Utrecht. Van de commissie Bestuursopvolging
Al enige tijd is er een vacature voor de functie van secretaris in het bestuur. De secretaris is belast met de administratie van de vereniging (niet de financiële administratie) met een zittingsperiode van 2 jaar. Denk je al een tijd aan een actievere rol binnen Rho Chi, wil je meehelpen aan het verder ontwikkelen van kennis en leiderschap binnen het Rho Chi netwerk en kun je tijd vrijmaken om je in te zetten voor het bestuur? Stel je dan kandidaat! Dit kan door contact op te nemen met Saskia Danen, voorzitter van de commissie Bestuursopvolging, via e-mail saskia.danen@casema.nl.

Third cohort added for GNLA
STTI is pleased to announce the opportunity to apply to join a third Geriatric Nursing Leadership Academy Cohort. The Retirement Research Foundation is the primary funder for this new cohort. The call for applications will be released by 17 February 2012 with applications due on 2 April 2012 and selections made by the end of April.
